WRITER
Rhea Dangwal is a freelance writer and multimedia journalist living in India. She writes about society through stories on culture, development and policy.
Her current work centers rural development, agriculture, the environment and gender; creating essays, op-eds, reported pieces and documentary shorts in the South Asian context.
Rhea began her career as a writer back in 1996 when her mother decided to read the Panchatantra to a newborn. She has since won debates, numerous writing competitions and has been a constitutive part of both her high school and college in-house publications. She is a Media and Communications person by training who specialises in Journalism and New Media. She is also a public policy enthusiast and critic. She is currently pursuing her masters in Gender studies.
Her widespread passions have helped her bag interesting internships with the Archeological Survey of India, Teach for India and the Platform Magazine in various positions. In her own words, she likes to call herself an old-school, independent reporter with a supermodern sensibility.
